And to Uncle Scotty's comment... Hey, I've never had the experience of swapping tires. I live in California where practically everyone uses a set of all-seasons until they're dead. No one needs "winter tires", and people who have "track tires" also have "track wheels". I've only seen them dismount my old tires in such a way that completely gouged them out; safe for the rim, but destroyed the tire in the process.

I'm an EE, so I'll design the hell out of a semiconductor ASIC but I'm new to car stuff.

I'm trying to weigh my options here. The local performance shop wants $132 to swap the tires. Resale of tires isn't very high so I'm trying to decide if I get better value out of using up what exists on my tires except on the rims I bought.

Oh... and simplistic questions don't always mean simplistic motives. But I shouldn't have to tell anyone that.
