Well, according to the myriad of others on this thread who have 17x7.5
+48 with 225/45/17 and have no rubbing, i think you'll be fine. It really all comes down to how much you are lowered. If you are slammed, there is a good chance you could rub, but with no drop or a moderate drop (1" or so), you should not rub.

+53 offset will sit 5mm further inward that +48. In other words, the +48 will be more flush with the fenders. You shoul dhave no problems whatsoever with the +53 rubbing, but I would still go with +48 if it was me.
