Another factor to consider is also the gauge of piping used, as it will affect the time it takes for the rust to go through it (un-treated mild steel). Generally T304SS systems will probably outlast your car's lifetime (given the proper gauge pipe) and same type of use on both.

Some grades of stainless retain more heat than non-treated mild-steel.
