This seems to be a fairly common problem. Usually when you go with a larger downpipe its usually without a heat shield. I have a 2004 stage 2 and the under the hood temps fried 3 coils. I just replaced all 4 and everything works great. I got a cusco heat shield and wrapped the downpipe and no problems again so far.
