I've never really had the opportunity to try any sort of downhill stuff. I got myself into biking and haven't been to that many parks, etc.. so I do mainly XC sort of stuff. I ride basically only at Borderland state park (because it's only minutes away from my condo) and some of the hiking trails are good XC trails (nobody really hikes them) and there's a decent NEMBA trail as well. I'm sure if I got to try some DH stuff I'd really like it, but if I tried it now I'd surely be a sweet noob at it crashing into stuff. I can hold my own pretty well doing XC stuff but I know it doesn't involve the same sort of skill a lot of DH does. My bike isn't anything crazy but it gets me by fine. I just swapped all the components over from my old Stumpjumper onto the new frame, because I broke a small tab on the SJ frame and I wanted a full suspension frame anyways so I just took the opportunity to do so. I want to eventually convert to disc brakes but my V's are doing well so I'm in no real rush.
