Not a bad idea - I might have to try that. I'll probably end up doing it next season as I'm too broke as it is right now.

I like it a lot. For the money, it's hard to beat. I was riding a hardtail Stumpjumper M4, so going from that to this is night vs. day on some of the more aggressive XC trails. I bought mine from Pricepoint for (IIRC) $369? - something like that. It's a bit heavier than my SJ frame but it has all the suspension components in the rear so I was expecting it. I was looking at the Relic too but I figured since I'm not as techno-savvy with bikes as I am with car stuff, I could live with a gas shock vs. a coil spring. If (or when) I really get into it more, I'd probably look at more pricey equipment. My swapover from my Stumpjumper went over pretty easy... just had to get a few new parts (seatpost, front derailleur [old one was bottom pull... new one had to be top pull - I miss my XTR!], and some new shifter and brake cables.). I also managed to mess up one of the bearings in my bottom bracket when swapping it into the new frame but that was just due to my own stupidity probably.
