3. They release as soon as you release the clutch. Or it should. Its a mechanical mechanism, there is no timer, if its holding after the clutch pedal has come up more than an inch off the floor, then you need to take your car to the dealer to have it adjusted. Its supposed to release IMMEDIATELY.
this is correct. i have it on my 08 forester and at first it was kinda a pain, but now that i have driven with it for two months i dont even notice it (well i do if i drive other cars that are stick). And i love how when friends jump in to dirve my car the always say its the wierdest thing
