Well just switching the cv boot doesnt do anything but i guess you could switch the whole inside side of the cv to get the female instead of male. I definitely wouldnt do that though even if it is possible. Why don't you want to take out the stubs? The male axles are "better", they switched to them for a reason. I really dont think its that big of a deal to take the stub out and it would be the easiest way in the end.
