Over the last 2 years and 60K miles or so, about once a month the car would fire up fine (hot or cold) and die immediately.
Very recently, and as often as 4-5 times per day, I can start the car and it dies right away again, requiring a healthy dose of throttle to keep it lit the first 5 seconds or so.
All stock, Mobil1 turbodiesel 5w-40 and M1 filter, relatively fresh plugs/wires, fresh gas. The only things I can think of immediately are:
-Old fuel filter (last March, been a ton of miles though!), maybe not enough fuel pressure or gas right away
-Failing vacuum line, purge valve, or Idle Air Control Valve....but otherwise idles normally...oh-- except for an annoying off-idle stumble...hmm that could be it.
Otherwise, the car drives okay.
Any help? Thanks!
