The stock ones are welded to a bracket, thats why i think most people do it like in this pic. You just cut a hole and install the tweet. No bracket needed.
they are NOT welded, and if you don't use that bracket, you won't get nearly the same sound, unless you fab one up that brings the face of the tweeter up closer to the grill, and at an angle. If it shoots straight out, the sound has to turn to even get OUT of the grill, and you will lose a lot
