That additive system gets put in either when the fuel terminal is filling up the tanker truck that goes to the gas stations, or when the tanker fills the gas stations' tanks.
Personally, I used the cheap stuff when it was a dime to a quarter a gallon less and added RLI's Bio-Plus (or LubeControl's FP-Plus). That was much less expensive overall and as good or better than the best brand name stuff. There's not that kind of spread where I live now, so it's about a wash on price.
i work at the BP refinery here in washington and what this guy is saying is basically true. the only difference is the additive. and by the way i use either shell vpower (92 oct.) or shell w/ techron (92 oct.)
