The aluminum is 3003 grade 3/16" thick. Yeah, its a little soft, but thats done for a few reasons.
One: is that its cheaper, cheaper for me, and cheaper for you. I could use some 6006 T6 aluminum, but its literally double the price of this one, and I'd have to add around $50 to the price of the plate!
Two: 3003 is soft, and it bends slightly when hit. This is good, because if it was a stronger, stiffer aluminum, it may crack under a hard hit. Now, for day to day use, Rall-X or TSD rallies, 3003 is more than enough. So far, I havent had any complaints
6006 T6 would really be for professional rally cars and or for racing applications
But, if anyone wants, custom plates can be made!
