exactly right. The stock wrx tranny will only hold up to 300whp if that. There are gear upgrades but they prob won't be worth the money or be able to hold the power. You should go with an sti trans swap. It will run you around 3-4k. You will have to change axels, hubs, driveshaft, rear diff and prob a few other things. I know there is a pretty decent price difference if you want the DCCD controller or not. I'm in the same position as you are. I am cosidering selling my engine and trans to buy the sti trans swap and then build myself a nice 2.5 or hybird engine. I am also going for the gt30 turbo setup so let me know how it goes with your build as well as prices so I can see where i'm heading......aka a very deep deep hole

turboXS is very reliable parts but also consider perrin, full race,and APS
