I work for a Bridgestone/ Firestone affiliate dealer.. and will tell you first hand..you pay through the nose for the name.. There are plenty better tires out there for much less money ( obvious much?)..Just like Goodyear, BF Goodrich, and especially Michelin, others they feel that because of their long history, their tires garner a higher price tag because of the history of the company that produces them..I run Dunlops as my summers, and Coopers as winters.. because they were reasonably priced, and have good reviews..
I was Jonesing for the RE-01R's, but budget constraints put the keibash on them, maybe next time..My DZ101's have been phenomenal.. stick like glue.. only half worn at 20K.. and only verbal at the limit...But I am looking to try something more racy/sticky when these are done; Eagle F1 GSD3; Yokohama AVS, or Dunlop Z1 Star Specs could be tapped for summer duty..the jury is still out..
