There isn't a car on the market that is truely made for drag racing. Eventually things are going to break but
I have over 100 runs down the drag strip in my WRX. Each run with a 5000 rpm drop clutch launch (1.73-1.83 60' times) with 17'' wheels. I'm still on the stock clutch and my tranny is still doing fine. This is also with a Stage 4. 300+ hp WRX.
I went through 2 trannies in less than a year drag racing my 99z28 so I would say the WRX is built pretty well.
HP/Torque breaks parts thats a fact. If you want to play your going to have to pay. Some just get luckier than others.
Case in point. My tranny is doing fine after 100 races, while I know a guy with a stock WRX that never even race his car and he has had tranny troubles? Go figure.
