225/45 or 235/40 on the 17x8 +48 won't rub. Most of the other combinations are in the grey area.

I don't know what the Rota DPT looks like or why you are sold on Azenis tires but there are plenty of tires in the world available in 245/40/17 and plenty of 8 or 8.5" rims in the +48 to +55 range. I suggest if you really want that extra 10mm of tire, you re-think your rim and tire selection based on that size. Note that you might even have trouble with 245 if your suspension has a lot of give (lowered).

255/40/17 isn't impossible to fit. You just need 8.5" of width (or more) and as much offset as you can muster. You'll still have to roll the rears as well. I squeezed 255/40/17 on my 04 STi with a +48 17x8.5" rim. I need to roll my rears though, they cut into my tire's sidewall when I hit bumps.
