Well...the header did "quiet it down" some...but don't think it isn't still pretty damn loud! I still set off the occasional alarm in the parking garage.

But that is a good point about tuned headers changing the note. A friend of mine is a Miata driver...therefore not the type of person to put something loud on, even for performance...he likes his car on the quieter side of the meter.

Anyway, he experienced the car both without the headers, and then with. We both certainly noticed a change in the exhaust note. The most striking difference was how much less intrusive the sound was when freeway cruising. Again...this does NOT mean that it is quiet! Simply...quieter.

I am actually VERY curious to hear a Suby with Borla headers and an STi exhaust (the quieter performance muffler).

Oh yes, since I have the mid-pipe I do NOT have any sort of resonator or silencer in the system what so ever.

Personally...the exhaust...is a BIT too loud. Great for having fun with, but nearly impossible to be stealthy with. That is my ownly regret. I cannot suprise any of my friends by dropping by their homes!

Swapping exhaust stuff is pretty easy to do...I'll see what kind of testing I can do...and perhaps we can find that ellusive middle of the road sound.
