Yeah, I was feeling no love on this thread, but was still trying to figure out a solution and post up my findings to help someone else avoid this.

Foolio (Jodie at Rallispec.com) is hooking me up with the right gear. He said you would run into this same problem with an RA gear set. They have these metal speedo gears (bronze I'm assuming) custom made for them out of japan. They use them on the RA gear sets and LGT gear sets and they work. I tried DS1 and Andrewtech with no luck. DS1 replied to my PM to call and I did, but Dylan was unavailable both times I called. Andrewtech never responded. Not bashing either of those great vendors, and I don't blame them. People are busy and it's not like a huge sale anyway. So, props to Rallispec for reading my thread and seeking me out with a solution!!!!!!

What I don't get are the guys that say they have had no problems with the gear out of their 98' or 99' Impreza. Those list for $73 and you can get them online for $60, but the metal gear was only a little more at $95. I figure I would rather pay a little extra instead of chancing another plastic gear and be pulling the tranny again in 6k miles. I know a plastic gear should last forever if it is correct, but the metal one just seems to be a better bet. PPG also makes Bronze speedo gears, so they must have seen a reason for the upgrade.

I will updtae this after I get it installed. Thanks again Jodie at Rallispec!!!!!!
