Rev the engine up to where it makes max. torque(166ft-lbs@4,000rpm on a stock Phase II motor) and slip the clutch smoothly but quickly making sure the rpms don't drop. Shifting should occur a few hundred RPMs more than max. horsepower(165bhp@5,600rpm). This should put your RPMs in the best torque range when shifting on a stock unit. Launching is definitely hard on the clutch. Launching with a clutch out of adjustment is brutal. And expensive.
