-----------------------------
0.2sec gap between Loix and Meeke

The battle is raging between the two drivers at the top of the Ypres Rally standings as Freddy Loix and Kris Meeke continue to race flat-out to either protect or capture the lead of the IRC's Belgian round.

On the challenging 33-kilometre long Heuvelland run, the stage-winning performance of Peugeot UK driver Meeke succeeded in taking out another 1.4 seconds away from the second-fastest result of Peugeot Belgium-Luxemburg's Loix.

Far from any negativity, both drivers arrived at the finish line with wide smiles on their faces, obviously enjoying their fight in Flanders. While Meeke commented that the feeling on the road was good, on his side Loix was coyly suggesting that he could go even faster.

Skoda teammates Jan Kopecky and Juho Hanninen took positions three and four on this stage, but while the Czech was close behind the second-quickest performance, the Finn was over a dozen seconds further away and blaming an overcautious approach on the slippery asphalt.
