For what it's worth: I read an article a while back (don't remember where) in which a guy tested an STi 0-60 times. He clocked 0-60 in 4.8-4.9 all day on a wet tarmac with two passengers and a full tank of gas.
Japanese cars are only allowed to have 276 bhp, maximum (by law). So, companies advertise 276 but it is thought that many, including their version of the WRX (STi?) have more than that.
Did anyone read the article in Road and Track late last year that compared 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of about ten different world class cars. This list included an official Subaru Impreza WRX (WRC race ready), Lamborgini Diablo, Porsche 911 Turbo, Guldstrand Corvette, Saleen Mustang, Viper 650R, an HKS racing 180SX dragster and a couple of others. They claimed the WRX produced about 300 bhp and outran the Diablo 0-60 by posting a time under 4 seconds and a quarter mile of 11.78 (I just found the magazine).
Don't even start comparing a Camaro to an NSX. I think that could be called sacrilege.
