GR Impreza STI

RaceComp Engineering “Regular Guy” Functional Lowering Springs

Finally, a performance spring designed with function over form is available for the latest Subaru Impreza STI. The Regular Guy Functional Lowering Springs for the 2008+ Subaru Impreza STI are designed as the ultimate performance spring upgrade for the newly redesigned GR chassis.

Specfications:
5mm drop front and rear
320 lb/in front and rear
Shortened bump stops included front and rear (12mm shorter front, 18mm shorter rear)

Paying special attention to the completely new rear suspension design of the GR chassis, the Functional Lowering Springs provide a mild 5mm drop front and rear to maximize the extremely limited suspension travel available. Shorter bump stops are included front and rear to take things one step further, resulting in more bump travel than stock. Rarely does an aftermarket spring set-up add suspension travel, but in this case it is a crucial design aspect that improves performance while helping to maintain a civil ride on the street.

Spring rates of 320 lbs/in front and rear are intended to work with the completely new rear suspension of the GR chassis, which has a lower motion ratio in the rear than previous Imprezas. In addition, the OEM dampers have been carefully examined on a shock dyno to match the new spring rates to the dampers.

RaceComp Engineering Tarmac II Clubsport Coilovers

These are a true 2008 STi Impreza fitment with valving and spring rates specific to the completely new 2008 chassis. These are not cobbled together from existing parts....these are designed from the ground up to provide a track worthy, easily serviceable and long lasting threaded body coilover suspension system for the 2008/09 STi.

These coilovers feature the same inox-line stainless steel corrosion resistant construction as previous versions of KW suspensions. Spring rates are 8kg front and 8kg rear. These are aggressively valved, 2 way adjustable, performance coilovers. These are valved more aggressively then the standard KW Variant 3's, yet still offer an amazing ride quality not felt with other brands. These do not come with strut top mounts, but we have a few options available.

$2180 Shipped (Coilovers Only)
$2550 Shipped (Group-N Front Tops, STi Rear Tops-Fully Assembled)

Ohlins Sportline DFV Coilovers

Ohlins has announced their new DFV Sportline Height Adjustable coilover suspension for the 2008 STI.

Long known for their excellent racing and street dampers, Ohlins is now able to offer a street/track solution for the new 2008 Subaru Impreza.

Highly flexible damping range allows for comfortable street ride and excellent track performance. New DFV (Dual Flow Valve) technology allows for more advanced valving on both the rebound and compression side, resulting in even better ride quality and performance. A first for Ohlins Sportline on a Subaru, these coilovers are dual height adjustable, allowing separate preload and ride height adjustments.

Combined with the 2008 Impreza's redesigned rear suspension, Ohlins is able to take the tenacious grip offered by the new STI one giant step forward, while allowing the user to fine tune the balance and handling of the car.

*Includes front camber plates and rear pillowball top mounts
*Separate ride height and preload adjustment
*Spring rates are 500 lbs/in front and 400 lbs/in rear
*Custom spring rates and valving are available

GTWorx Camber Plates

Drawing upon the extensive chassis design knowledge and experience that comes from designing several suspension and brake components with RCE, GTWorx is proud to announce their Camber Adjustment Pillowball Mounts for 2002-2007 Subaru Impreza. 2008+ Subaru Impreza GR chassis and 2005+ Legacy will be available shortly. These camber plates are currently intended for coilovers only, however, testing is underway for use with OEM style fixed perch struts.

Key features of these new front camber plates include a very low stack height, which means that these top mounts are non-raising at most camber settings. For a coilover at a given ride height, the user will have MORE bump travel with the GTWorx plate when compared to most other currently available plates on the market which raise the car substantially.

In addition, +.8 degrees of caster are built in to the camber plate, which helps minimize dynamic camber loss in a turn for the camber challenged Impreza chassis.

These lightweight alloy camber plates use the same high quality PROVEN pillowball bearing used in the popular Racecomp Engineering Camber Plates, which are known for smooth, long lasting, and quiet operation. Hardware is zinc coated stainless steel. Each bearing is rated at 37,000 lbs radial and 7,730 lbs axial force.

RCE Parts in Development

At RCE/GTWorx, we are constantly working to expand our line of performance products. We have some exciting new products for the GR chassis STi/WRX on the horizon, building upon our already successful catalog. You can expect to see these products released very soon, but for now here’s a preview of what’s to come!

RCE Swaybars

(GD swaybars pictured)
Using the knowledge we have gained in the process of developing our GD swaybars, as well as extensive testing of the GR chassis, we are in the final development stages for our GR swaybars! Made from heat treated and cold finished 4142 Chrome Moly with ends hot forged on a 125 ton press, the bars are then powdercoated black for a durable, rust-free finish. They feature washer tabs on the front and rear to prevent walking, and include polyurethane bushings and lube. More details and a full press release coming soon!

RCE Kool Brake Kit

This kit was designed to cool and vent the braking system, thus reducing rotor temperatures. Initial testing at Summit Point Raceway showed up to a 200 F drop in rotor temperature on a GD STi when using aggressive pads. Testing was done with Pagid Blue RS-42, Pagid Yellow RS-19 and the new RS-29 brake pads. Designed to work with both stock STi rotors and any aftermarket 2 piece rotor.

The Kool Brake Kit includes 12 feet of high quality, motorsport grade, high temperature hose far better then other options on the market. There is no need to upgrade. Stainless steel hose clamps are also included.

The RaceComp Engineering Kool Brake Kit is now exclusively offered in dry carbon fiber to improve unsprung weight savings. The spindle ducts are considerably lighter then the OEM dust shields that are replaced during installation. The GR Kool Brake Kits are in production, look for a press release soon!
