just call smc and ask him. he's a nice guy, always around to assist his customers/consumers.
if its a ground issue i think the spray light stays on. what you can do is get a helper to look at the pressure gauge on the pump while you lightly tap the gas and press the test button. if there isn't any pressure then your pump failed.
recheck all your wiring just incase the mechanic disconnected something. i wouldn't go WOT with this thing broken... your car is probably pulling timing because its running lean.
