Default !!READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A NEW THREAD!! Format and Requirements for New Threads

Due to the incredible number of variables that exist in the world it is very difficult to compare one tune to the next or one 1/4 mile sprint to another. In an attempt to make the threads a little easier to sort through and a little easier for others to read and compare we have decided to implement a specific format for creating new threads in PPB. If you are going to create a new thread regarding your new dyno tune or your latest trip to the drag strip you MUST use this format. Failure to do so will result in your thread being deleted. Failure to list or include the required information will result in your thread being locked and the 1st post edited such that people know immediately that there is missing information and you're results may not be valid for review and comparison. This applies to all threads created after 6-October-2009.

We apologize for being so strict about this, but its evident we need some type of regulations around here to increase the utility of posts and cut down on the amount of potentially false and useless information. We are also hoping to reduce the amount of bickering, arguing, and flaming that occurs. This is supposed to be a cool place where people can be proud of what their car has done and pass on useful information regarding builds and results. Please don't post false info just to make your e-dick feel bigger. Its cool to see big numbers and great performance, but its still the internet and no one is any more significant than the next n00b to piss off Uncle Scotty by asking about a BOV.

This is the new required format. Thead title and 1st post of your new thread must contain the following information as it applies. Copy and paste into your new thread and fill out as noted.

Thread Title: Must contain engine displacement and turbo type (intent is to make it easy for others to search for setups they are interested in). You can include other info in the title if you choose. Just include those couple items to help others search and find your thread.

examples:
Dyno Tune: 2.5L + Blouch Dominator 2.0 makes XXXwhp
or
Dyno Tune: (insert shop name here) makes 500whp on a 2.5L + FP Red @ 25psi
or
Quarter Mile: 2.5L + GT35r goes XX.Xsec @ XXXmph

1st Post: Your 1st post must contain the following items. If you are a vendor posting a customer car and do not know the full extent of modifications please make note of that. If anyone doesn't have the ability to measure the temperature, can't look up city elevation on the internet, or doesn't remember the weather that particular day please list it as "unknown".

Event: dyno pull / quarter mile
Location: shop name for dyno pull / track name for quarter mile...include city and state
Ambient Temp: in degrees Fahrenheit
Elevation: feet above sea level
Weather: sunny, cloudy, wet, dry, hot, cold, etc...
Track and Conditions: concrete or asphalt, clean or dusty, flat or running slightly up or downhill (for 1/4 mile only)
Tires: brand, model, size

Car: year, model
Tuner: name of person who tuned the car (add shop name and location if posting 1/4 mile time)
Dyno Info: brand
Transmission: 5spd/6spd stock gearset/RA gearset/ppg gearset/albins gearset/m factory gearset
Gear: 3rd/4th/5th
Peak HP at RPM: note whether or not it is SAE corrected
Peak Torque at RPM: note whether or not it is SAE corrected
Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: list numbers and note whether its WRX or STi and 2.0L or 2.5L
Target Boost: preferably in psi
Target AFR:
Fuel: not just pump gas or race gas...list octane rating and leaded or unleaded
Engine/Power Modifications: internal, external, or electronic components that directly affect power made by the engine
Driveline Modifications: transmission/gearing changes, final drive/differential changes, driveshaft changes, clutch, flywheel, etc.
Suspension Modifications: struts, springs, coilovers, braces, bushings, and other items that reduce body motion and increase power transfer to the ground
Other Modifications: weight removal, addition of a roll cage, lighter wheels or rotors, smaller than OE diameter tires, and other items that affect vehicle weight, rotational inertia, and power delivered to the contact patch

Attachments:
-If posting a 1/4 time you MUST post a copy of the time slip. Slips containing the facility name and date are great. If you can find a track that also lists car make and model its certainly a bonus for you.
-If posting a dyno pull/tune you MUST post a copy of the hp/tq curves. If possible it would be nice to have your new pulls shown vs. a stock WRX or STi on the same dyno so the difference/change is easy to visualize.
-Inclusion of video is not required, but we are sure it would be appreciated for many of the 1/4 mile posts.

*If you feel we have missed an important item regarding dyno tunes and quarter miles, or feel we are asking too much please PM MPREZYA, Kevin Thomas, Leonardo, Scooby921, or Audiosavvy regarding the issue and we will review as necessary.
