i erased mine and then it went away and hasn't come back yet but i don't have any funky idle or misfire or anything like that. mine went away when i changed the oil and removed the filters. even though the filters were spotless, i did have amsoil in there with about 3k on it, so i changed it and the code went away.

i did notice when i was under my car that i can see oil between the timing cover, or looks like its been drippin real slow around what looks to be a foam strip between the two, im sure if oil gets in there that it would help it slip a tooth being slick. it has me worried enough that i want to go get it replaced but not sure if i want to do that myself or not.

if funds allow, i'm gonna take it to a shop and have them replace it, the subie dealer here sucks a fat one. i went in to get a quote on repair, the tech said; let me go back and ask the machanic, then came back and said he wasn't here, he hadn't finished all his scoobie mechanic classes yet, he was only on 2 of 4......................so i didn't feel comfortable leaving it there.
