Question any idea on how to keep from tearing FWD axle boots?

like the title says...i've replaced both of them in the last year, had my car up on the lift saturday, noticed quite a bit of black goo on things as i was rooting around the o2 sensor wiring earlier, and sho' nuff, the drivers side boot was torn AGAIN... only a small hole, but still...

anyone have any idea what i can do to stop the car from eating these like candy, or why? yes, i'm sure putting as much power to the wheels as the car put to the crank stock isn't helping matters much, but could having lowered suspension make them more prone to tear because of the angle they're at? nothing radical, maybe 1.5" lower, tops...

any ideas?
