Street circuits are horrible spectator events. There's usually very little passing because the streets are so narrow and lined with concrete barriers that keeps anyone from pushing their luck. If you've never been to a race before, go to the Grand-Am race at NJMP. Grand-Am usually provides some great racing, and there will no doubt be a few support series races that weekend, too. I'd almost guarantee you'll get a better show than you will from a street IRL race.
