Yea, I was thinking about doing it myself. I figured a shortblock swap would be within my skill level, but I don't know if I want to tackle such a significant job.
Not to mention that same casflow issue.
I'm thinking that selling it to someone who could do it themselves would be the best deal for both of us. Short of that, the perfect scenario would be to find someone who would be interested in fixing it and then selling it on consignment, taking the repair cost out of the proceeds, hopefully leaving me enough to buy something good to drive for the winter.
In the real world, I'm guessing I'll have to borrow the money for repairs, (or at least parts if I do it myself,) then sell the car to pay that back and buy a cheaper replacement.
