I believe Extra-S was a response to premature Synchro wear problems in the 6MT's.
I've run extra-s and motul gear 300 in my trans over the course of around 45k miles (many of them on track). I had significantly smoother shifting and zero synchro problems with the gear 300, so that's what I'll stick with. Just because extra-s was specifically formulated for the 6-speed doesn't mean there isn't better stuff out there.
