The thing is, a catch can is only going to solve problems of oil vapor getting through the crankcase/valve cover breather vents and into the inlet. If its coming through valve stems, or burning oil, etc, then a catch-can wouldn't help anyway.
right now it is just smoking at idle. this is the same way it started with turbo #1...progressed over the next 300 miles to the point of looking like a blown motor, but running like a top.
stems, burning oil, rings, etc would not progress like this...not be this drastic of a change.
a catch can will help me troubleshoot to make sure its not massive blowby
