Last I checked it wasn't nearly that high in cost...more like $3000 - $3500. The $4000 was in Australian dollars. While the cost still may seem high, in comparison to the bolt on kit by AVO for the RS, this is right around the same price range.

EDIT: According to the first page of the thread on RS25

Not intercooled 5.2 psi boost AUD$4400 (USD 2500.00) based on .64cent AUD and AUD local tax removed
I'm not sure of the cost of the higher boost and intercooled versions.
