Awd drifting doesn't need steering angle.
...rwd is the way to go anyways. It's more fun and you retain independent front/rear operation. It's more flexible.
Have fun with the prep. Most of it will still come down to your driving. You'll still have to toy with the car and find out what it does and then mod it as needed to respec the car to what you prefer. It'll be hard to tell until you start drifting the thing. I'd suggest staying light with the mods and just see what it does first.
