Yes, this is a relatively easy mod as long as you are comfortable taking apart the area housing the stereo and the HVAC controls.

-Remove the trim ring around the stereo and HVAC controls
-Remove the stereo (4 screws)
-Remove screws holding HVAC controls in

With the HVAC controls free, tilt the unit so you can see the underside. On the right side on the bottom of the unit, behind the selector controlling the position of the air there is two small purple wires and a switch mechanism. cut one of these wires and you are good to go. Alternately I have heard of people taking the switch mechanism apart that gets tripped when you turn the selector to the defrost positions. With the mechanism apart you turn it around and reassemble it so that even though the mechanism is working it doesn't trip the switch.

Either method will work, one is just much easier to do. I chose to cut a wire. It's easy enought to splice it back together if I ever feel I need to.
