I think the idea is to weld the vent line into the exhaust pipe at an angle, so that a bit of vacuum is created right at the fitting.

That said, I wonder how crankcase pressure compares to EGBP. Worst case, I suspect that CC pressure would just increase until it reaches or exceeds EGBP and then the valve opens and stuff flows in the right direction.
