So you are successully able to get data in hyperterminal, right? And what baud rate are you using? Also, make sure only one application is connected to the COM port at a time. For instance, if you have hyperterminal open and it is connected to the port, other apps won't be able to read the port too. In the AEM utility, does the COM port of your UEGO show up? If so, what happens when you click 'Connect'?
