well, kinda, its really a matter of flexability, it offers a way to use a strictly RWD conversion but at the same time the ability to mate an excellent low speed high torque engine with a low C/G to a very popular 4WD arriangement, depending on which transmission you choose to use

the only limits is your own imagination

I think the original design was for an Rx7 Mazda with a sub engine
