Subaru only needs 2500 cars to have a 1.6L Turbo to be WRC/FIA eligible. So a short-run, STI Spec C (maybe Type RA), would suffice. They already have the motor since the just released Advanced Tourer Concept has a 1.6L Hybrid engine. Just remove the hybrid motor and you have your WRC engine (in it's weakest form).
The FB20T could then be sold in all of the other models, similar how the EJ25T is only sold on certain models.
