yeah if some shops use the cheap exedy oem replacement from worldpac then they can do it cheaper. But ive had to swap out 3 of those clutches after we found out that they really arent oe replacements. The disc has single springs instead of dual and the pressure plate has a lot less stregth on the ears than a oem clutch.
so outback- most likey oe worldpac replacement which is like 300-500 cheaper than a real oe replacement.
pia- most likey uses actual oem parts from subaru
internet has made it very hard for local companies. Let me just remind you that you get what you pay for 95% of the time.
you want a cheap clutch ill put in a cheap clutch for you. but dont try and get me to replace it when its still chattering 6 months later cuz its a cheap clutch.
