I prefer the BRZ myself and I'm not crazy or a magazine racer but I guarantee a lot of people will cross-shop these two- just like the WRX gets cross shopped with the Genesis Coupe or the Mustang (no logical reason, but it does). You guys forget that the average car buyer is FAR LESS car savvy than some people are here. If I did not know any better, I would be thinking: what fun sporty car I can get for 20-25k these days? And guess what, these 2 would be on the list...
Funny story: last week I was at a subaru dealership for service, in the display room a guy is looking at the new 2012 impreza. He is opening the trunk of a 4 door model and asks: is this the hatchback? <- this is your average car buyer. So all the rhetoric and mechanical details in the world that differentiate BRZ from the Veloster T are not relevant to him.
