I have never had a problem with conti's. Last month I tried an event with the DW and they were hard to find the limit even with the cold ground temp.
Just my opinion. The DW are cheaper too.

Unfortunately, your opinion doesn't match up with well-proven auto-x results. There's a reason that the top 10 STU finishers at Nationals (and 25 of 34 runners in the class) were on Star Specs, and not a single competitor in
any of the ST classes was running Continentals. At the National level, guys will run the tires that work.
Don't get me wrong, the DW is a great tire - I have them on my CTS-V and they do everything well. But for raw grip they can't match the Star Spec (or the various other extreme performance tires that are basically designed specifically for Street Touring competition).
