No **** it's not a GM solenoid....
I was showing with a Grimmspeed picture where on the GM solenoid mine failed. Grimmspeed obviously knew there was a problem with the design and added a rubber grommet where the wires went into the solenoid. I have heard GM started putting that grommet on some of their solenoids since but I haven't seen any to verify if this is true or not
