Interesting, thanks for the insite! I have done a cheap ebay turbo inlet (2.4 inlet) on my old 03 wrx and yes it was a hassle, took off my manifold and all too.

But the 8mm spacers still was a tight fit? Would you say it made alittle more clearance? Because my second time doing it. I plan to just wiggle/dangle/shove it in. Aha....

I can see why it would be a hassle to put a fmic on. With just the fmic without the spacers, it was already touching the hood......
