The delayed enrichment is an emissions mandate. I work for a manufacturer and have had to implement this system. Its a simple fix. Even if you intend to leave the car stock. You can get a tune that will provide a large factor of safety by correctly adjusting the enrichment delay and rpm settings.
The TRQ curve dictates when enrichment is needed. Please to do not listen to hacks telling you to zero all these tables and settings. If you do, You end up with poor mileage and lots of carbon build up in the motor from the over enrichment as you drive around town. Gas is expensive. There is no excuse to just waste it
Can you explain a little further? Is the EPA forcing Subaru to run a lean tune from 3-4k? I'm assuming it's the same in the WRX, but not a problem because it runs lower boost and TQ?
