You are not the first to do this however. I've done it. Although yours will probably be the first to run and drive...

I did it slightly differently. I used the legacy rear suspension but I used the stock brat front crossmember. I got custom control arms to mount the 5 lug stuff so I still have manual steering and such. Also used an adapter plate and used an RX transmission which is slightly smaller so it fit in the factory tunnel. Not by much though... What did you do with the tie rod lengths from shortening the crossmember?
