In fact I hit all the same lights and also drove pretty much the same way both mornings. My commute is mixed with traffic lights on both ends and some smooth sailing in between. I reset the trip A each morning.
Yesterday I averaged 27mpg. Today, 33mpg. The only difference I noticed? I warmed up the car this morning till the blue light on the dash went off. Is this conclusive proof that this is what rendered better mpgs? No. Is it likely? Yeah I suppose. Did I actually save gas in the end? I reset the trip A as soon as I turned the car on both mornings. But I don't know if the mpg calc starts before you move for the first time. Both mornings it started off with the avg mpg reading "- - -".
The computer doesn't begin calculating until 1 mile after a reset.
