Yeah but when you just take off at 20% throttle in fair weather conditions, nothing is slipping or will be slipping. The car isn't trying to continuously adjust torque split to keep that 20% throttle under control. It has to have a default it runs at until something happens (full throttle application, wheel slip, turn rate/yaw sensor mismatch...) Making constant adjustments for no reason would just cause premature wear.
i would think we hopefully won't take that SOA response literally. i'm guessing it holds the 90/10 ratio fixed until some threshold if slippage is noted and then the adjustment takes place.
of course, i have no clue if that is really the case, and also since this is my first AWD, i really am just speculating because i like to as a scientist (which i am for my profession...just not an ME or auto industry scientist!
