I don't think your alternator would appreciate that
I think there will be an on-off button for the AC. The way I understand, semi-auto implies that it holds a certain temperature, like 20°C. I think the difference between "semi-auto" and climate control is that climate control is usually more advanced, 1°C(or °F) increments and multiple climate zones etc...
