And auskiPro- I already stated that I did check the oil level after they changed it. It was way above full aso I took it back and they reduced the level to the top indicator mark.
I find this whole situation to be quite unacceptable. Rings have seated on every other car I've ever owned. It ran great since new, got better than epa mpg's right away. I followed subarus break in advice. The problem, whatever it is, is new as I check all my fluids very regularly.
How about changing the oil filter to see if that fixes it? If it's an oil pressure issue, a defective filter could certainly contribute to that, I would think.
I always try the cheap and quick possible solutions. If it doesn't fix it, $8 wasted is livable.
