I'll probably end up doing that and have them do the TSB for the steering column trim at the same time. Although, I'm not sure I completely trust the dealership to take the dash apart to fix a rattle without causing two more in it's place.
I may attempt to take off the A pillar trim tomorrow, if it's not raining, and see if some foam tape quiets thing down. Just a little paranoid about breaking something in a brand new car.
keep us posted. my problem so far is that they are intermittent. of course, if they were constant, i would either be insane by now, or i would have had it to the dealer to fix them.
i tried stuffing the a pillar from the outside with an old folded up parking permit (cardstock). we'll see how that performs.
i also have the central dash rattle on occasion. i'm pretty sure it's the "lid" of the trip/clock/temp computer readout. not sure how to quell that play as i am not very interested in opening up the dash.
as i've said before: intermittency is a mixed blessing: i'm glad that 3/4 of the time (just a rough guess) the car is dead silent...but when it's rattling like it can, it really drives me nuts as i don't think i've had a car rattle like this in many years (except for some of the crappy rentals i've had)
