i definitely need to try this out: i squashed a piece of cardstock between the windshield and the a pillar and in my brief driving yesterday, the rattle was gone. but i think i need a longer term analysis to convince myself that it worked.
however, i am glad to get your experience as it is a better looking solution. but i hope i understand you correctly. if i recall, when i did my tweeter upgrade, there is a "tooth" (white) with a notch that is part of the a pillar that comes down and meets the speaker grill panel. is that the "point" you wrapped or stuffed this felt pad under?
i guess the idea here is to minimize motion of the a-pillar under rough roads/vibration. so whatever we try, it's to make it more rigid. i need to take a trip to home depot and/or lowe's this weekend to try something like this out. i hope this works as it will be one set of rattles i wont' have to deal with.
is your other dash rattle coming from the center computer readout area (mpg/clock/temp). i think that lid over the top of that display can rattle and buzz. i wonder if there is an easy fix to remove the play in that lid.
